Tom Gilbert

SENIOR RESEARCHER

Tom is a Senior Researcher on nfpResearch's Professional Audiences team, leading our nfpPolitics programmes and overseeing nfpPress. He works with charities to understand how they are perceived by parliamentarians, journalists and other key stakeholders, and to build evidence-based strategies for engaging them.

Tom leads our tracking work with MPs, members of the House of Lords, MSPs, Members of the Senedd and MLAs, as well as our annual survey of UK journalists, giving charity clients clear insight into how they are seen by the audiences that matter most to their advocacy, communications and fundraising work.

Before joining nfpResearch, Tom spent almost six years at Ipsos UK, where he led on the flagship Ipsos MPs study as a Senior Insight Executive in the Corporate Reputation team. He also worked as a Researcher and Data Analyst at the National Network for Neighbourhood Improvement (3ni), leading research to strengthen community resilience in deprived areas.

Tom holds an MSc in International Relations from UCL and the MRS Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research, and is fluent in French and Spanish.
