nfpFunders is nfpResearch's grantee and applicant perception survey. It gives funders an independent, evidence-based picture of how the organisations they fund - and those they turn down - experience their processes, communication and relationships.

The survey is tailored to each funder. We work with you to design a questionnaire that covers the areas that matter most to your organisation, built around a core set of benchmarking questions that let you compare your performance against data from over 13,000 grantees and applicants across 18 other funding organisations. The survey goes to your grantees and unsuccessful applicants, and as an independent agency we give respondents the space to be honest.

The benchmarking data covers areas like approachability, clarity of application processes, speed of decisions, quality of communication, and how well grantees feel understood as partners. You'll see where you're performing well relative to other funders and where there's room to improve.

Your subscription includes a PowerPoint debrief of findings and recommendations, an interactive online dashboard where you can filter results by funding stream, income size or applicant type, dedicated account manager time, and a briefing pack. Optional extras include in-depth interviews with grantees and applicants, and a written report of key findings.

Several funders have chosen to publish their nfpFunders findings as part of their commitment to transparency and learning - something we're always happy to support.

nfpFunders sits within a broader programme of funder-focused research at nfpResearch. We've published work on public and parliamentary attitudes to trusts and foundations, and on the role and impact of funder plus support. If you're a funder thinking about how you're perceived - by your grantees, by the sector, or by the wider public - we can help.
