UK Small Charity Research Award – Round Two Now Open!

At nfpResearch, we believe that high-quality insights should be accessible to organisations of all sizes—especially small charities that are often closest to the issues but furthest from the resources. Building on the success of our first Small Charity Research Award, we are delighted to announce that we are launching a second round today.

Reflecting on Round One

In our first round, we were overwhelmed by the response, receiving over 200 applications from organisations across the UK and Ireland. We were proud to offer support to eight small charities, including two bespoke research projects. Among them:

  • Hamlin Fistula UK: Looking to grow their supporter base and enhance fundraising to support women in Ethiopia with obstetric fistula. See case study on this project here.

  • Muslim Charities Forum: A UK network of Muslim-led charities seeking to better understand and serve their audiences.

We also supported five additional organisations, such as Bloody Good Period and Team Margot, with access to our research monitor data.

Introducing Round Two

This round will be slightly different from round one. The aim of this round is to help organisations better understand what the public thinks about your target issues, your work, or your key messages. Successful applicants will be able to submit questions into a nationally representative survey of the general public, where you can test messaging, explore public opinion on your cause, or gather evidence to inform your work.

We are inviting applications from small charities and Community Interest Companies (CICs) in the UK with an income of under £1m.

By taking this shared survey approach, we are hoping to support at least 10 small charities, helping more organisations benefit from research without the cost.

What's Included?

The opportunity to add a handful of questions to a survey of the general public, guided by your goals
